Why was the study done?

This study was done to understand if participants like getting internet therapy with more or minimal therapist support and if it affects how well the ICBT course works.

What was done in the study?

In the study, they looked at how participants chose between getting standard support (more therapist help) or optional support (less therapist help) during the ICBT course. They also looked at how well the ICBT course worked for different groups and if participants finished the course.

What did we find out?

The study found that most participants preferred standard support, especially those with more severe symptoms. But, those who chose optional support still found the ICBT course helpful. Completion rates were similar for both support types.

Where do we go from here?

Future research could focus on why participants chose one type of support over the other. Also, studying what specific help participants want in optional support could improve the ICBT course. Looking at long-term effects and finding ways to improve completion rates would be helpful too.
